"As a first-time attendee of the APOS conference, being selected as a recipient of the Early Career Travel Award significantly enabled my participation—an opportunity I had aspired to for some time but was previously limited by financial constraints. I am sincerely grateful for the support of the APOS mentoring program, which has not only facilitated my engagement with the conference but also inspired me to reflect on and share the impact of this experience."
- Michael L. Blizzard
"I just wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for everything you put into APOS. It was so incredibly well run — every detail felt intentional, and it truly showed how much thought and care went into the planning.
Honestly, it's the best conference I've ever attended, and that's not something I say lightly. I left feeling inspired and I absolutely cannot wait to be back next year.
Thank you for creating something so special!"

Award Criteria
PURPOSE
A significant barrier to APOS conference attendance for early career psycho-oncologists is the financial burden of travel—particularly during a time when many trainees have limited or no income. For instance, student members who have demonstrated long-term commitment to APOS through committee involvement have, in some cases, been unable to attend due to lack of funding. We are pleased to offer this award for a second year to support five first-time or early career attendees. Recipients will be selected based on the quality of their poster or podium abstract and other established review criteria.
ELIGIBILITY
We are excited to offer this award for the second year to 5 first-time or early career* attendees, based on the scores of your abstract and other review criteria.
You may ONLY apply for this award along with your submission of a poster or podium. Awards specifically earmarked for each of the following groups: student, postdoc, early career (within first 5 years of faculty appointment) or approaching mid-career (5+ years).
*Please note you may apply for both the Health Equity Scholarship and the Early Career Travel Award, but you will ONLY be awarded one within the same review cycle.
AWARD BENEFITS
Five (5) first-time or early-career travel awardees will be awarded based on scores on their submitted abstracts AND their received applications. They will be recognized in the opening ceremony at the conference along with other awardees.
Awardees will receive the following:

- Membership for 2026 ($99)
- Conference registration for 2026 ($275)
- Participation in the Mentoring Social at the conference
