Learning Objectives

APOS 2014 Learning Objectives
As a result of attending the APOS 11th Conference, participants will be able to do the following:

  1. Define the significance and core elements of at least one of the quality care standards for psychosocial oncology and supportive care as described in the Commission on Cancer Cancer Program Standards 2012: Ensuring Patient-Centered Care (i.e., patient navigation, distress screening and survivorship care plans)
  2. Describe the process of implementing one of these quality care standards based on the resources available, nature of the practice setting and the population served
  3. Identify at least one practice or advocacy specific goal for the implementation and evaluation of one of these quality care standards and create an action plan to meet these goals
  4. Identify at least one gap that needs to be explored through further research or policy analysis (e.g., the cost effectiveness or value-added outcomes of psychosocial and supportive cancer care)
